Localizing app name in Windows Store apps


In Window Store apps we have the possibility to localize the app name, so that in the tile on the Start page will be used the name that corresponds to the user’s language. In the same way, also Windows Store will show the localized name.

The steps to accomplish this task are straightforward. We just need to define the localize names in the appropriate Resource file (RESW), for example in an entry with key AppName (this key must be the same in each resource file). Then, in the manifest file, we specify this resource name in the Display name textbox, using the prefix ms-resource:. Take a look to the following screenshot:


The last important thing to do is to associate all the localized app names to your app, for example when you reserve the app name in the App Dev Center.
